01

Context

AuthorAZ is a platform for independent authors. It began with a simple premise: useful support should not require authors to give up control of their manuscripts, ideas or materials.

The essential question was how a modern author tool could work when data never needs to leave the device.

02

The problem

Author tools can bring planning, writing and publication preparation into one place, but that convenience often depends on cloud accounts, centralised data or features outside the author's control.

For AuthorAZ, that was not an acceptable trade-off: the product had to be useful without turning an author's work into someone else's raw material.

03

The strategic decision

The positioning was built around privacy by design and a local-first principle. Data stays on the device, no cloud account is required, and the product does not rely on AI reading or in-app tracking.

These are not settings-page decisions. They define the product architecture, the way the product is explained and the trust it needs to earn.

04

Positioning

Your books. Your data. Your device. is a clear promise, not simply a tagline. It connects the product's usefulness with the boundaries AuthorAZ has chosen not to cross.

The identity and digital experience were designed to make that promise recognisable, from the first visit through to use of the app.

PLURIEL's role

PLURIEL led product strategy, identity, website, iOS and Android apps, and the launch system.

Strategy, brand, UX and development were treated as one coherent experience rather than separate deliverables.
